The Junior High Quiz Bowl program begins in January with a homeroom team of five students representing each of 32 homerooms. Students study prepared questions a week ahead of time that align with the MEAP Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCE’s) in English language Arts, Science, Math and Social Studies. Teams from all homerooms compete in the media center every day, each team coming to the table seven times in eight weeks. At the end of this competition, champion homerooms are decided through point accumulation, and, in some cases, through play-off elimination. A trophy is passed each year to the winning home room in each grade, to be stored In that room for the following school year.
