Supply LISTS
Back-to-School ads are coming out. We realize those sale ads come out before teacher assignments and schedules do, but if you are looking to take advantage of their sales for the basic, most commonly used supplies, you can find the supply lists here:
Douglas Road Elementary Supply List
Jackman Road Elementary Supply List
Monroe Road Elementary Supply List
Bedford Junior High School Supply List
Bedford High School does not put out a supply list due to the wide variety of classes offered. Students should come to class prepared with the basic supplies: pens, pencils, etc. Their teachers will inform them about any additional supplies they might need on their first day.
Online Payments
RevTrak Replaces MySchoolBucks for Chromebook Insurance (and Other) Online Payments
On the back-to-school to-do list for parents is the payment of Chromebook insurance. Students in 2nd through 12th grade will take their Chromebook home daily and insurance is required for students to take Chromebooks off campus.
High school students can pick up their Chromebooks during Registration Week (August 22-26) and the junior high students will be able to get theirs at Round-Up (August 23-25). Elementary students in grades 2-5 will get theirs at school after the school year starts. You can help speed up the Chromebook distribution process by making the payments in advance of these respective dates and you can do this online.
Previously we have used MySchoolBucks for this and other online payments. We are using a new vendor to facilitate these online payments and we will be using RevTrak instead. For your convenience, here is a direct link: https://mybedford.revtrak.net/
For the 2022-23 school year, insurance coverage on Chromebooks will be $21 per device. Families that have 3 or more students in the 1:1 program will have insurance capped at $63. (All student chromebook insurance for a family with more than 3 students needs to be done in the same transaction for the insurance cap to apply.) Families experiencing hardship circumstances may contact the building principal to discuss financial assistance.
RevTrack charges a 3.6% processing fee for each transaction.
Universal Free School Meals Program Ends/New Food Service Account Link
The Universal Free School Meals Program has been discontinued. If the thought of this causes you distress about the resulting financial impact on your family, fill out a Free & Reduced School Meal Application if you have not yet done so. It takes about 10 business days to get approval so it would be helpful to start that process before school starts to ensure benefits are available on the very first day of school. (If you were approved for this last year, you have a grace period before benefits expire but you will need to fill out a new form by October to avoid a lapse in benefits.)
This can be done online, or an application can be printed from our website, or a printed copy can be picked up in school offices (after August 24 in elementary schools).
Meal prices for 2022-2023:
Elementary Lunch: $2.85
Secondary Lunch: $3.00
Reduced Meal Prices:
Reduced breakfast price: $.30
Reduced lunch price: $.40
For those that will be paying for reduced or full price meals, our Food Service account vendor, Meal Magic, has replaced the SendMoneyToSchool.com with a new Family Portal for families to manage student meal accounts online at https://bedfordps.familyportal.cloud/
Families will need to create an account the first time they use the service:
1. Click the Register button to setup an account.
2. For the Username, enter the email address you previously used for SendMoneyToSchool.com.
3. Accept the Terms Of Use and Privacy Policy.
4. Check your email for an activation link and click it.
5. Follow the instructions to complete the setup.
Once the setup is complete, all of your student's information and balances will transfer to their new account.
If you do go to the old Send Money to School site, there is a link to redirect you. Please search for Bedford Public Schools and then set up your account using the instructions above.
There are also tutorials in the Family Portal if you want more information on using it.
Online payments incur a service fee of $2.95 for every $100 deposited. We also take cash and checks at the cafeteria registers for deposit in the student accounts with no additional fees.
