Bedford Public Schools and the University of Toledo have entered into a unique partnership, the first between a Michigan public school and an Ohio public university, to allow Bedford High School students to dual enroll at UT. Beginning in the Fall of 2024, eligible students will be able to choose from 3 courses designed to give students a head start in UT’s engineering program.

These first 3 classes available through this partnership include: Introduction to Engineering, Engineering Mathematics, and Trigonometry. Each of these University of Toledo classes are worth 3 college credits. Additional courses will become available as students complete the initial offerings.

All classes will be held on the UT campus, taught by UT staff, and students will be responsible for transportation and parking.\

This is another incredible opportunity Bedford students can benefit from while still in high school. Earning college credit now means smaller college expenses, a smaller course load allows students to concentrate more fully on other courses or the opportunity to graduate college ahead of schedule.

With so many of Bedford’s graduates already heading to the University of Toledo for their post secondary education, this is truly a win-win scenario for not only Bedford Public Schools and the University of Toledo, but mostly for the students in our community.
