MHSCA Conducts Virtual Award Presentation

Coach of the Year Kevin VogelThe Michigan High School Coaches Association (MHSCA), the professional organization of school coaches and athletic directors, has selected Mr. Kevin Vogel of Bedford Public Schools as the Michigan High School Athletic Coaches Association Coach of the Year.

The selection of Mr. Vogel reflects positively on Bedford Public Schools and its community. Coach of the Year selections are based on the performance of their program over the years and /or their contribution to the sport, school, and community. Those were some of the criteria used in the decision to honor Mr. Vogel as the MHSCA Coach of the Year in the sport of Wrestling out of the nominees from the entire State.

The MHSCA has nearly 35,000 members serving as athletic administrators, and all levels of coaches in numerous high schools and junior high/middle schools throughout Michigan. They work to promote the educational value of interscholastic athletics and the role of athletic administrators and coaches. MHSCA is proud to spotlight Kevin Vogel as a person whose work and values best mirror those of the association.

Athletic Director, Mark German, recognizes the value Coach Vogel brings to the wrestling program at Bedford, "I am very proud of Coach Vogel and the work he does for our kids. We are very fortunate to have him as our wrestling coach."

The MHSCA Executive Board of Directors presented the Coach of the Year Awards in a virtual recorded program. Mr. Vogel’s award presentation was conducted by the Michigan Wrestling Association (MWA) representative on the MHSCA board, Mr. Mark Holdren.
