ALL STUDENTS HAVE ACCESS TO CHROMEBOOKS & DIGITAL RESOURCES
Students at Bedford Public Schools all have access to Chromebooks. The youngest students each have access to devices that are kept in their classrooms. Students in Grades 2-12 have devices issued to them that they take home each evening. Previously, the Chromebooks in Grades 2-3 had been used in classrooms only.
With a device available to each student, if the district, or individual school building, needs to switch back to virtual learning at any point, everyone has access to the online resources needed to make that pivot to at-home learning no matter what grade the student is in.
BPS uses the following schedule when assigning devices to students:

When 8th Grade and 12th Grade Chromebooks are turned in, they are repurposed for use by students in 2nd and 3rd Grade. The next year, these Chromebooks are repurposed for use in Young Fives/Kindergarten and 1st Grade Classrooms.
